This real-life fairy tale is so enchanting that every young woman who ever wished to be a princess will immediately fall in love with it. The Countess writes beautifully and describes what it is like to live in royalty - all the good and the bad. I could not put this book down until I completed the whole story. I found the book in an online library and must have a hard-cover for my own library.
She begins her diary as a young teenager of sixteen. She talks of all who live in her household, the servants and staff's duties and her education and daily rituals. She also describes her sister's arranged marriage and her own love story. Her journal reads like a novel. Included in the journal are some footnotes giving further explanations.
