I loved this deliberate movie. The movements of the characters, the dialogue, the storyline; all were very deliberate and strong. The movements and the speech patterns reminded me of the character "Mozelle" of Eve's Bayou. I love Eve's Bayou as well.
Additionally, I enjoyed the smooth transitions from English to the foreign languages. I enjoyed the "clear" focus of most of the shots and found that the more "fuzzy" shots added to the film's art and made it unique. I thought I was going to see the typical "horror" but Nadja is different.
I was surprised to see Peter Fonda as Van Helsing...the character was more for Christopher Walken instead for casting in this role.
The scene that really made me laugh out loud was when "Van Helsing" was awakened as he lay in the piano with his cracked, mirrored sun glasses on - Hilarious!
The most beautiful scene was when "Rainfield" strummed the strings of the harp as "Nadja" told her family's story in a way that would not arouse the suspicions of "Cassandra".
The most confusing for me was in the end; Is Cassandra now possessed by Nadja and thus married her brother? Hmmm, Curious...
Nadja is a FAB!! movie that should be viewed at least once. I have watched it several times today and enjoyed it.
