Part of the "Illustrated Classics" series. Many full page color illustrations as well as b&w line drawings. Although no artists names are given it would seem that there were at least 2 illustrators on the basis of the difference of the pictures. Some of the editing translates to 2 pages from the original  to a paragraph here. When a book is adapted for a movie often many changes are made. In book abridgements, as in this one, the changes are very minor. Mostly, it is simplified, and yet some words are retained, such as, cote, instead of shelter. Sometimes the simplified words are not the best choice but youngsters would hardly notice. The title on the spine and cover reads, Swiss Family Robinson, whereas the title page reads, The Adventures of. This is a good choice if you like the story but aren't fussy about reading the original. The color illustrations are first rate! Easy on the eyes as the font chosen is larger than your everyday novel. Paper and cover quality is very good. Original price, $9.95, in Canada and Australia, $11.95. Others in the series include- David Copperfield, Black Beauty, Mutiny on the H.M.S. Bounty, Oliver Twist and the Adventures of Robin Hood.
