The Andersonville diary

Some two and one-half times as many soldiers were subjected to the hunger, disease and despair of the prison camps of North and South as were exposed to the deadly fire of the guns at Gettysburg. Those camps killed nearly ten times as many men as died on that battlefield. John L.
