Notes: "The revision of President Andrews's history by Professor James Alton James, of Northwestern University, brought the narrative to the last year of President Taft's administration. Ten years later, a second revision extended the history to the early months of 1922, thus including the Washington Conference on the Limitation of Armament. A third and fourth revision by Professor Paul L. Haworth ... and by Arthur Macmahon ... have been required ...
