I was pleasantly surprised by this book, getting more from it than I thought I would. It is a real page turner and I stayed up all night to read it. I was sad when it finished and really hope there is a sequel. I felt that I had really gotten to know the character of Nikki by the end and understood her fears and related to a lot of the things she went through. The author has a great sense of humour and manages to see the world through very colourful eyes.

It brings to life the world of rock and roll in the eighties but is just as relevant in today's world. It is a universal story even if we don't all go around shagging rockstars. She tells her story of sex, drugs and rock and roll in a candid, sometimes shockingly honest way and yet retains a sense of dignity.

I would recommend this book to almost anyone. It has a bit of something for everyone. Humour, tears, philosophy of life and a great message that sees this young girl go from having no self esteem to someone who is proud of herself with all her flaws.

Great read.
