초록:

Articles and sample syllabi from courses about intercultural communication are presented in this volume. Because the field of intercultural communication is relatively new, minimal work has been done developing standardized syllabi for courses relating to it. The resources in this book provide a base for building a coherent curriculum in intercultural communication. Section I presents three articles on teaching intercultural communication by educators at universities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Section II presents syllabi for 26 courses on intercultural communication from schools including Stanford, Cornell, Loyola, Portland State, and universities of Hawaii, New York, Detroit, Kansas, Delaware, and Minnesota. The syllabi outline elements including course objectives, rationale, requirements, textbooks, reading lists, content, instructional level and methods, activities, and evaluation procedures. Section III offers similar sample syllabi for five courses in communication and development/social change. (AV).
